Sung Dae Kang Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Highway 150 in Ventura County

VENTURA COUNTY, CA (September 3, 2021) – Sung Dae Kang was killed in a motorcycle crash early in the afternoon on Wednesday in Ventura County. The September 1 crash occurred in the Casitas Pass of Highway 150.

The time was roughly 2:30 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

Kang had been traveling on Highway 150 and heading east. In an area between Carpinteria and Lake Casitas, not far from Rameli Ranch Road, the motorcycle went out of his control.

The bike went into the lane of opposing traffic, and collided with a vehicle, described only as a truck. The impact threw Kang from the bike.

He died at the crash site. Kang was a resident of Oxnard, 35 years old.

Reports do not say if the person who had been driving the truck was injured in the crash. The person has not been identified.

Investigators are continuing their work on the incident.
