Michael James Lewis Identified as Man Killed in Santa Maria Crash

SANTA MARIA, CA (May 13, 2022) – Michael James Lewis was identified by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office as the man who was killed in a crash this week in Santa Maria. The May 9 crash occurred on Highway 101.
Reports say Lewis was driving an SUV, described as a Honda CRV. The Honda collided with another car, and the impact sent the Honda to overturn and roll multiple times.
The Honda went over the median in the center of the roadway, and came to a stop in the traffic lanes on the opposite side of the road.
Lewis was killed in the crash. He was a resident of Nipomo, 68 years old.
The person who was driving the other vehicle has not been identified. According to reports, the other driver was not hurt in the collision.
Investigators are continuing to work on the crash. If anyone has information about the incident, the person can call the California Highway Patrol in Santa Maria.
