Los Angeles Hit-and-run Crash in Boyle Heights Area Kills Pedestrian

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 4, 2022) – Late at night on Saturday in Los Angeles, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian. The April 2 crash occurred in the Boyle Heights area, on Whittier Boulevard where Esperanza Street intersects.
The time was roughly a little after 10:00 p.m., Los Angeles Police said.
According to authorities, the pedestrian was walking in a crosswalk at the intersection and a vehicle–which has not been described–struck him. The driver did not stop to help the victim, but fled the crash site.
Responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department pronounced the victim deceased at the crash site. He was described as maybe in his forties or fifties.
His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved in the crash, and the suspect hit-and-run driver, who has not been described.
