Hit-and-run Driver Smashes into Liquor Store in Ventura

VENTURA, CA (May 23, 2022) – Late at night on Friday in Ventura, a hit-and-run driver smashed into a liquor store and fled the scene on foot. The May 20 crash occurred at 165 South California Street where the liquor store is located.
The time was roughly 11:42 p.m., Ventura Police said.
No details have been reported on how the crash happened. Responders found a vehicle had smashed into the building, and no one from the crashed vehicle had remained at the site.
According to Ventura City Fire, the building had damage that was moderate, and responders worked to stabilize the building. No one inside the building was injured, according to reports.
Investigators are collecting details and searching for the suspect hit-and-run driver.
