Fiery Crash in East Los Angeles at Olympic Blvd. Kills Three

EAST LOS ANGELES, CA (April 8, 2022) – Early in the morning on Friday in East Los Angeles, a vehicle erupted in flames after smashing into a tree; three people were killed. The April 8 crash occurred in the area of East Olympic Boulevard and South Herbert Avenue.
The time was roughly 12:33 a.m., Patrick Kimball said. Kimball is an officer with California Highway Patrol.
Responders worked to free two people from the wreckage. A Good Samaritan who was driving a big rig also came to the crash site and worked to put out the fire with an extinguisher.
Responders pronounced the three people deceased at the crash site. None of the people who were killed in the crash have been identified, including their names, ages, genders, and cities of residence.
Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened, and what factors may have contributed to it.
