Elderly Oxnard Man Struck and Killed on Ventura Road

OXNARD, CA (August 31, 2021) – Early in the morning on Friday in Oxnard, a pedestrian was struck and killed. The August 27 crash occurred on Ventura Road near Bay Boulevard.
The time was roughly 3:55 a.m., according to Oxnard Police.
A vehicle–described as a Mustang–was traveling on Ventura Road and heading south. It struck a pedestrian who had been walking across the street within a crosswalk, reports say.
Responders arrived and found the victim died at the crash site. He was identified only as a resident of Oxnard, 76 years old. His name has not been reported.
The person driving the vehicle left scene of the incident, and stopped near Redwood Street, where he parked. The driver came back to the scene of the crash as investigators were working and identified himself.
The driver was identified only as a resident of Oxnard, 20 years old. His name has not been reported.
Investigators are continuing their work on the incident.
