Car Crashes into Trash Truck on SR-163 in San Diego; Driver Killed

SAN DIEGO, CA (April 26, 2022) – Early in the morning on Monday in San Diego, a crash involving a car and a trash truck on State Route 163 killed a person. The April 25 crash occurred on the northbound side of the roadway, close to Genesee Avenue in the area of Linda Vista.
The time was roughly 6:30 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
According to authorities, a car–described as a Ford Fusion–had been traveling north and going at a fast speed. The car struck the rear end of a trash truck that was traveling slower in the right hand lane.
Responders pronounced the driver of the Ford Fusion deceased at the crash site. He was identified only as 24 years old.
His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Reports do not say if the truck driver was hurt in the crash. The person’s identity has also not been reported.
Investigators are working on the details and information related to the crash.
