Benly Nic Nanthavong Identified as Man Killed in Bakersfield Crash on Highway 58

BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 10, 2021) – Benly Nic Nanthavong was identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office as the man who was killed in a crash on Friday in Bakersfield. The November 5 crash occurred on Highway 58, close to Claymine Road.

The time was roughly 2:40 a.m., the Coroner’s Office said.

Two vehicles–which have not been described–collided. The manner in which the crash occurred has also not been described.

Responders arrived and found that a person–who was later identified as Nanthavong–died at the crash site. He was a resident of Stockton, 27 years old.

It is not known if the driver in the other vehicle was injured. The person has not been identified in reports.

Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened. They are in the process of collecting information.
