BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 12, 2022) – Early in the morning on Tuesday in Bakersfield, a pedestrian was struck and killed. The January 11 crash occurred on Kentucky Street in the 1400 block.

The time was roughly 5:56 a.m., Bakersfield Police said.

According to authorities, the person had been in the road and not within a crosswalk when the crash occurred.

The vehicle that struck the woman has not been described.

Responders pronounced the victim deceased at the crash site. Her identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.

The person who had been driving the vehicle stayed at the crash site and cooperated with investigators. The identity of the driver has not been reported.
