Crash may have been Intentional When South Los Angeles Woman Struck and Killed on W. 39th Street
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 4, 2021) – Early in the morning on Sunday in South Los Angeles, a woman was struck and killed. Authorities think the October 3 crash–which occurred on West 39th Street in the 1500 block–may have been intentional.
The time was roughly 2:43 a.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
According to Mike Lopez, who is an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, officers arrived on scene and found the pedestrian. A witness reported that the driver hit the person on purpose, and fled the scene.
Responders pronounced the woman deceased at the crash site. She was identified only as 46 years old. Her name has not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved–which has not been described–and the suspect driver, who has also not been described.
