Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Mira Mesa Blvd. in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA (September 16, 2021) – In the afternoon on Tuesday in San Diego, a pedestrian was struck and killed. The September 14 crash occurred in the neighborhood of Mira Mesa, on Mira Mesa Boulevard at Aderman Avenue.
The time was roughly 3:00 p.m., according to San Diego Police.
The pedestrian had been walking in a crosswalk, reports say, and a vehicle–described as a Jeep Wrangler–struck her.
Responders transported the pedestrian to the hospital, but she died from her injuries. She was identified only as 50 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
The driver was identified only as 45 years old. His name and city of residence have also not been reported.
Investigators are continuing their work on the crash to understand why it happened.
