Cement Truck Falls Over after Collision with Car on I-5 in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA (August 20, 2021) – Late at night on Wednesday in San Diego, a crash involving a cement truck and a car sent the truck to fall over on I-5. The August 18 crash occurred on the southbound side of the freeway, close to where Clairemont Drive is located in the area of Mission Bay.
The time was roughly 10:45 p.m., according to authorities.
Reports say that according to people who witnessed the crash, a car–which has not been described–hit the rear-end of the cement truck. The impact sent the truck off of the roadway, and it overturned and hit a tree before coming to a stop.
Good Samaritans stopped and pulled over, and went to help the driver, reports say. Responders arrived on scene and transported the driver to a hospital.
The types of injuries the person suffered, and current condition, are not known. The patient’s identity has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the car has also not been identified.
Investigators are continuing their work on the crash.
