Willowbrook Crash During Deputy Pursuit Kills Two, Injures One

WILLOWBROOK, CA (January 24, 2022) – On Saturday night in Willowbrook, a car smashed into a pole, killing two people and critically injuring one person. The January 22 crash occurred where South Main Street and West El Segundo Boulevard intersect.

The time was roughly 9:45 p.m., Officer Kimbal said. Kimbal is with the California Highway Patrol.

According to reports, a deputy from the Compton station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was pursuing the vehicle, which has not been described. The reason for the pursuit has not been reported.

The car crashed into a pole at the West El Segundo Boulevard intersection.

Responders from the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived to help, but two people died at the crash site. The identities of the two people have not been reported.

Responders transported one patient to the hospital. The person suffered injuries that were described as critical.

The identity of the patient has not been reported.

Investigators are working on the incident.
