David Spink, Barstow Firefighter, Dies a Month after Vehicle Hit Him on I-15

BARSTOW, CA (January 14, 2022) – David Spink, a Barstow Fire Protection District engineer, died a little over a month after a vehicle struck on Interstate 15.

Spink died January 9, 2022. He was 56 years old.

Spink had been helping victims at a crash site on I-15 on December 5. A vehicle struck him while he was helping others, causing injuries which were fatal.

The governor honored Spink and his service.
