Teenager and Child Struck and Killed in Bakersfield by 4-time DUI Driver

BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 9, 2021) – Early in the afternoon on Wednesday in Bakersfield, a teenager and a child were struck and killed by a 4-time DUI driver. The December 8 crash occurred on Panama Lane in the 1400 block.
The time was roughly 1:16 p.m., Bakersfield Police said.
The teenaged man, 19 years old, and the child, 10 years old, were walking on the sidewalk when a woman drove onto the sidewalk and struck them.
The two victims were killed in the crash. Their identifies–including names and cities of residence–have not been reported.
The driver was identified as Lisa Core, a resident of Bakersfield, 46 years old.
Responders transported Core to the hospital. She suffered injuries that were described as minor.
According to reports, Bakersfield Police said that Core is a four-time DUI offender. Authorities arrested Core on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence of drugs, murder, driving on a suspended license due to a DUI conviction, and a four-time DUI offender.
