Pedestrian Walking on I-5 in San Diego is Struck and Killed

SAN DIEGO, CA (November 19, 2021) – On Thursday night in San Diego, a pedestrian who was walking on I-5 was struck and killed. The November 18 crash occurred close to Pacific Highway.
The time was roughly a little before 8:45 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
For reasons that are not known, a person was walking across the lanes of the southbound freeway. A vehicle struck the person, who died in the crash. The identity of the person has not been reported.
The vehicle that struck the pedestrian has not been described, nor has the driver been identified. It is not known if the driver was hurt in the crash.
Investigators are working to understand the crash; they are currently collecting information for that effort.
