SANTA ANA, CA (September 2, 2021) \u2013<\/strong> On Thursday in Santa Ana, a hit-and-run driver struck and seriously injured Rafael Garcia. The September 1 incident occurred on Third Street, and footage from a surveillance camera recorded the sounds of the crash, as well as a vehicle leaving the area.<\/p>\n

The vehicle–described as a Toyota Corolla, black in color with four doors–may have been involved in another hit-and-run crash that injured a pedestrian moments after the first one. The second crash occurred in the area of Seventh Street and Raitt.<\/p>\n

Garcia–who is 84 years old–was hit outside his home, and the driver did not stop to help him. Responders transported Garcia to the hospital. His condition was described as critical.<\/p>\n

The pedestrian who was struck in the second collision has not been identified, including name, age, gender, and city of residence. Reports say the person suffered moderate injuries.<\/p>\n

Investigators are searching for the suspect driver, who has not been described, and the vehicle.<\/p>\n
