\nMOORPARK, CA (September 15, 2022) \u2013<\/strong> Early in the afternoon on Wednesday near Moorpark, a two vehicles collided head on, killing one person and injuring another. The September 14 crash occurred on Highway 118, near Grimes Canyon Road and to the west of it.<\/p>\n

The time was roughly 2:20 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.<\/p>\n

A vehicle–described as a Mercedes C-series sedan–had been traveling on Highway 118 and heading west. The Mercedes went into the lane of opposing traffic at a point where the road curves, for reasons that are not known, authorities said.<\/p>\n

The Mercedes collided head on with a Chevrolet box truck.<\/p>\n

Responders found the driver of the Mercedes died at the crash site. He was a resident of Oxnard, 26 years old. His name has not been reported.<\/p>\n

Responders transported the driver of the box truck to Thousand Oaks, to Los Robles Medical Center.<\/p>\n

The patient suffered injuries that were described as moderate. His current condition is not known.<\/p>\n

He was identified as a resident of Moorpark, 49 years old. His name has also not been reported.<\/p>\n

Investigators are continuing their work on the crash. If anyone has information about the incident, the person can call the Moorpark office of the California Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n
