BUTTONWILLOW, CA (July 27, 2022) \u2013<\/strong> On Saturday in Buttonwillow, a two-vehicle crash killed a one-year-old girl. The July 23 crash occurred in the area of Shafter Avenue and Burbank Street.<\/p>\n

According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle–described as a Dodge Ram truck–had been traveling on Burbank Street and going eastbound.<\/p>\n

Authorities allege the driver of the Dodge went through a stop sign without stopping, and collided with a vehicle–described as a Jeep.<\/p>\n

Responders transported the one-year-old girl who had been traveling in the Jeep to Kern Medical. She died in the hospital.<\/p>\n

Responders transported three other people from the Jeep to the hospital. The patients suffered injuries that were described as moderate.<\/p>\n

No one who had been traveling in the Jeep has been identified in reports.<\/p>\n

Responders took the truck’s driver to the hospital. He suffered injuries that were described as major.<\/p>\n

Authorities arrested the person who was driving the truck on suspicion of DUI. He was identified as Irving Rodriguez-Barraza, a resident of Wasco, 22 years old.<\/p>\n

Investigators are continuing their work on the crash.<\/p>\n
