SPRING VALLEY, CA (July 22, 2022) \u2013<\/strong> Early in the morning on Sunday in Spring Valley, a man was struck and killed on State Route 94. The July 17 crash occurred on the eastbound side of the freeway, near Spring Street.<\/p>\n

The time was roughly 2:30 a.m., Travis Garrow said. Garrow is an officer with the California Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n

According to authorities, two vehicles collided on the freeway, and a man exited one of the vehicles after the crash.<\/p>\n

The man was standing in the number one lane of the freeway when a vehicle–described as a Hyundai Elantra–struck him.<\/p>\n

Responders pronounced the man deceased at the crash site. He was identified only as a resident of San Diego, 28 years old. His name has not been reported.<\/p>\n

The driver of the vehicle that struck the man was identified as a resident of Spring Valley, 27 years old. His name is not known from reports.<\/p>\n

Reports say authorities arrested the person on suspicion of DUI following the crash.<\/p>\n

No details have been reported on the initial crash that involved the two vehicles.<\/p>\n

Investigators are continuing their work.<\/p>\n
