VENTURA, CA (December 2, 2021) \u2013<\/strong> Early in the evening on Sunday in Ventura, an elderly pedestrian was struck and critically injured. The November 28 crash occurred on Thompson Boulevard in the 200 block, close to where Figueroa Street is located.<\/p>\n

The time was roughly 6:00 p.m., Ventura Police said.<\/p>\n

Reports say the pedestrian had been walking on the sidewalk, and a vehicle–which has not been described–that was traveling in reverse hit her.<\/p>\n

The impact knocked the woman down and she was trapped beneath the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Responders arrived and worked to extricate the woman from underneath the vehicle. They transported her to a hospital.<\/p>\n

The injuries she suffered were described as major, and her condition was critical.<\/p>\n

She was identified only as 74 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.<\/p>\n

The person who had been driving the vehicle remained at the crash site. The identity of the driver has not been reported.<\/p>\n

Investigators are continuing to work on the crash.<\/p>\n
