CANYON SPRINGS, CA (November 12, 2021)<\/strong> \u2013 Early in the morning on Thursday in Riverside County, a crash on the 215 Freeway killed one person. A number of adults and children were injured in the November 11 crash, which occurred in the area of Canyon Springs.<\/p>\n The time was roughly 7:00 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.<\/p>\n As many as three vehicles may have been involved in the crash in the southbound lanes of the freeway close to Box Springs Road.<\/p>\n A vehicle–described as an Enterprise moving truck–and a truck–described as a Ford–collided. A vehicle–described as an SUV–struck a pillar of the freeway.<\/p>\n No details have been reported on how the crash occurred.<\/p>\n Responders arrived and found one person had died at the crash site. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.<\/p>\n Responders worked to free five people who were trapped in wrecked vehicles. According to Bruce Vanderhorst–who is a battalion chief with Riverside Fire–several of the injured patients who were transported by responders to hospitals were children.<\/p>\n The California Highway Patrol said at least one of the children had a head injury.<\/p>\n A number of patients suffered injuries that were described as critical, authorities said.<\/p>\n None of the people involved in the crash have been identified. Investigators are continuing their work on the crash.<\/p>\n
