THOUSAND OAKS, CA (November 5, 2021) \u2013<\/strong> Early in the afternoon on Tuesday in Thousand Oaks, a crash on the 101 Freeway caused injury and lane closures. The November 2 crash occurred on the northbound side of the freeway, in the area of the Conejo Grade where truck scales are located.<\/p>\n

The time was roughly 1:20 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n

A big rig–described as a dump truck with a double-trailer–had been traveling on the freeway, and at the tope of the Conejo Grade, the truck turned into the scales for weighing.<\/p>\n

A vehicle–described only as an SUV–smashed into the truck as it was making the turn, reports say.<\/p>\n

Responders transported the SUV’s driver to a hospital. The person suffered injuries that were described as minor. The identity of the driver has not been reported.<\/p>\n

Reports also do not identify the person who was driving the truck.<\/p>\n

Multiple lanes of the freeway were closed for hours following the crash. Investigators are working to collect information about the incident.<\/p>\n
